Role Overview:
The New York Life Summer Internship experience offers an exciting opportunity for rising juniors and seniors looking to gain exposure to a corporate environment. As part of your summer, you’ll participate in learning and development activities, gaining insight into our business and how our company functions. The summer internship program also includes additional social and networking opportunities where you will be able to expand your network with peers, mentors and senior leaders.
The Summer Internship opportunity is 10 weeks long, beginning Monday June 1st, 2026, and concluding Thursday, August 6, 2026. Interns will work on a hybrid schedule with Mondays and Fridays remotely.
Internship opportunities may be located in: New York, NY, White Plains, NY or Jersey City, NJ. Location is dependent upon the exact team you are aligned to; however, you will be able to specify your preferences on the job application.
What You’ll Do:
Join New York Life’s Human Resources team and gain hands-on experience in shaping the future of our workforce. Our Human Resources pathway offers exposure to multiple areas within HR, giving you the opportunity to apply your skills, grow professionally, and make meaningful contributions.
As an HR Intern, you may have the opportunity to support projects in areas such as:
Talent Acquisition – Assist with strategic recruitment efforts and candidate experience initiatives.
Employer Branding – Contribute to content creation, social media strategy, and campaigns that highlight our culture.
Talent Management – Partner on programs focused on employee engagement, performance, and development.
DEI Center – Support initiatives that advance inclusion across the organization through programming, partnering with Employee Resource Groups (ERGS) and more.
You’ll gain exposure to HR strategy and operations, while developing communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills in a collaborative and supportive environment.
This pathway is ideal for students who are passionate about working with people, curious about how organizations attract, develop, and retain talent, and eager to contribute to initiatives that shape employee experiences. It’s a great fit for those who enjoy building relationships, communicating effectively, and applying critical thinking to solve human capital challenges in a corporate environment.
What You’ll Bring:
Must be enrolled at an accredited 4-year university or college with anticipated graduation date between December 2026 and May 2028.
