Ourisman Tri-State Subaru is hiring a Dealership Controller . The Controller is responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the dealership, including preparing financial statements, analyzing financial data, managing cash flow, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing critical financial insights to dealership management to make informed business decisions. The Controller is essentially acting as the primary financial manager of the dealership. This is not a role for a first time Controler. The candidate must have prior experience as a New Car Dealership Controller. Key responsibilities of an automotive controller:

• Financial Reporting:
• Prepare comprehensive financial statements monthly, adhering to dealership guidelines and manufacturer formats.
• Analyze financial statements to identify trends, strengths, and areas for improvement.
• Provide detailed financial reports to department managers to assist with operational decision-making.
• Budgeting and Forecasting:
• Develop and manage the dealership budget, monitoring expenses and revenue against targets.
• Create short-term and long-term financial forecasts to guide strategic planning.
• Cash Management:
• Maintain an effective cash management system, forecasting cash needs and optimizing the use of excess cash.
• Monitor bank reconciliations and ensure accurate cash balances.
• Compliance and Internal Controls:
• Ensure adherence to all applicable accounting standards, tax regulations, and dealership policies.
• Implement and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard assets and prevent fraud.
• Operational Support:
• Assist department managers in understanding their financial reports and identifying opportunities for cost reduction.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth financial operations.
• Analysis and Reporting:
• Conduct in-depth financial analysis to identify key performance indicators (KPIs) and areas for improvement.
• Provide regular reports to the dealership management on financial performance and trends.

Required skills and qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred and not necessary
• Proven experience in automotive dealership accounting
• Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Proficiency in automotive dealership management systems (e.g., Reynolds and Reynolds)
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with various departments
