Job Description

Job Description

We are a private equity real estate firm redefining the norms of credit and structured finance. Backed by 115+ years of combined leadership experience and a team built for agility, depth, and discipline, we're reimagining how private capital intersects with commercial real estate—and how exceptional teams drive meaningful outcomes for investors.

Position Summary
We're seeking a  Director of Asset Management to lead loan and portfolio performance across RRA's commercial real estate credit platform. This is a  hands-on leadership role overseeing transitional and bridge loans — from proactive borrower engagement and risk management to workout and REO resolution.

The ideal candidate is decisive under pressure, fluent in complex loan structures, and thrives in environments where speed, judgment, and precision matter.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Within the first 12 months, success in this role will look like:
  • Delivering  real-time visibility into portfolio performance, risks, and resolutions across all active and non-performing loans.
  • Leading  successful restructures, workouts, or REO sales that preserve or enhance investor value.
  • Strengthening  borrower relationships and servicing coordination , ensuring compliance and timely execution.
  • Partnering cross-functionally with legal, servicing, accounting, and investment teams to streamline decision-making and enhance portfolio returns.

Day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Manage and monitor a portfolio of commercial bridge and structured loans, identifying early risk indicators and implementing corrective actions.
  • Direct workout strategies for underperforming or defaulted assets, including restructures, deed-in-lieu, foreclosure, and REO management.
  • Coordinate with external counsel, receivers, property managers, and brokers to maximize recovery.
  • Drive reporting accuracy and portfolio insights through KPI tracking, cash flow analysis, and performance dashboards.
  • Provide actionable feedback loops to credit, underwriting, and investment teams to strengthen new loan origination discipline.

Performance Profile
To excel in this role, you must be:

  • A credit-first thinker — able to assess borrower strength, collateral value, and risk with precision.
  • A calm problem-solver — thrives in workout or "messy” situations where structure and strategy are needed.
  • Data-driven and disciplined — produces error-free reporting and analysis that drive decisions.
  • A collaborative leader — influences without ego and partners across teams to deliver results.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong understanding of  bridge lending, CRE loan documentation, and credit performance metrics.
  • Desire to work on-site in  Phoenix, AZ. and contribute to a high-performance, entrepreneurial culture.

Education & Experience

IMPORTANT
Commercial Real Estate (CRE) Lending focuses on financing income-producing properties such as office buildings, retail centers, industrial facilities, and multifamily housing .

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, Real Estate, or related field (MBA or CFA a plus).
  • 8+ years in commercial real estate  asset management on the credit side , ideally with a lender, debt fund, or special servicer.
  • Proven experience handling  loan restructures, defaults, and REO processes.
  • Advanced  Excel and portfolio analysis skills; Power BI and Argus experience preferred.
