We are seeking an experienced Fractional CFO to lead strategic financial advisory engagements for clients. This role is ideal for a seasoned accounting or finance professional who thrives in a consultative environment and is passionate about helping businesses grow through financial clarity, operational efficiency, and strategic insight. As a Fractional CFO, you will serve as the primary financial advisor for assigned clients, working closely with their leadership teams, internal accounting staff, and external partners (e.g., attorneys, bankers, financial advisors). You will also collaborate with internal team members to ensure high-quality service delivery.


Essential functions:

Serve as the lead financial strategist for assigned clients.

Provide insights and recommendations to support executive decision-making.

Assist clients Leadership Team with developing and monitoring short-term initiatives and long-term strategic plans.

Advise on capital structure, financing options, and long-term financial planning.

Build financial models to support strategic initiatives and scenario planning.

Oversee or review monthly/quarterly financial statements and management reporting packages.

Ensure financial statements accuracy, completeness, and compliance with GAAP or applicable frameworks.

Present financial results, including financial analytics, and provide actionable financial insights to client leadership.

Conduct historical cash flow analyses and maintain cash flow forecasts and liquidity strategies.

Identify key drivers of operational and financial performance and assess the impact(s).

Lead the development of annual budgets and/or rolling forecasts.

Recommend improvements to cash management practices.

Assess and enhance internal financial controls and risk management practices.

Design and implement new accounting processes where needed.

Ensure compliance with regulatory and industry standards.

Mentor client accounting teams and internal staff.

Provide training and support to outsourced accounting personnel.

Foster a collaborative and proactive advisory environment.


Required Skills and Abilities:

Skilled in developing financial strategies and aligning them with business goals.

Able to interpret financial data to support executive decisions and identify growth opportunities.

Experienced in managing cash flow, capital needs, and funding strategies.

Strong understanding of financial risk, compliance, and regulatory standards.

Comfortable presenting financial reports to boards, investors, and leadership teams.

Works well across departments to align financial planning with operations.

Can improve financial systems and reporting tools for better efficiency.

Capable of mentoring finance teams and building leadership within the department.

Familiar with mergers, acquisitions, and strategic financial transactions.


Required education and experience

Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

Minimum 57 years of progressive experience in financial leadership roles (e.g., CFO, Controller, Financial Analyst).


Preferred education and experience

Masters degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.

Certified Public Accountant (CPA): Enhances credibility and expertise in public accounting.

Prior experience in a fractional or consulting CFO role.

Familiarity with Mississippi business regulations and financial landscape.
