Raised spot UV business card printing involves a special spot UV process where a layer of UV ink is applied to your cards on a specified area of your design. This layer of UV ink is about 50 microns higher than the surrounding surface, giving your cards an interesting, memorable texture wherever the raised spot UV is applied.

Is there a limit to how much or where I can use raised spot UV with my design?
You can use the special finish on up to 75% of the front of your card. The only thing to keep in mind in terms of where you add raised spot UV is that it should be within the printing safety margin (shown as a dotted line in our design studio).
Is raised spot UV the same thing as embossed gloss?
How thick is the paper on these cards?
Our raised spot UV (embossed gloss) business cards are made using either a 18pt silk or 19pt soft touch. Each point (pt) is equal to .001 of an inch, to give you a frame of reference.

Full Bleed Size: 3.61″ x 2.11″ / 91.72 x 53.62 mm
Document Trim Size: 3.5″ x 2″ / 88.9 x 50.8 mm
Safety Area: 3.38″ x 1.88″ / 85.9 x 47.8 mm
To avoid white edges, extend your design to the full bleed size – but keep text and images within the safety area. Remember to remove all die lines from your template to avoid them being printed alongside your design.
